Rama, this (truth) is the basis of righteousness. The virtuous also know this. The king being angry (with me), should not abandon the truth for your sake. ॥ 2-18-24॥

He was seized with fear as if he trampled a serpent. ॥ 2-18-4॥

    प्रदक्षिणं परिहरन् जगाम नृपतेस्सुतः । स राजकुलमासाद्य मेघसंघोपमैः शुभैः ॥ २-१७-१७pradakSiNaM pariharan jagAma nRpatessutaH । sa rAjakulamAsAdya meghasaMghopamaiH zubhaiH ॥ 2-17-17- were left on his right as the son of the king ( Rama ) proceeded. He (Rama) arrived at the royal abode, resembled clusters of white clouds. ॥ 2-17-17॥

    यथार्हं चापि सम्पूज्य सर्वानेव नारान् ययौं । पितामहैराचरितं तथैव प्रपितामहैः ॥ २-१७-८yathArhaM cApi sampUjya sarvAneva nArAn yayauM । pitAmahairAcaritaM tathaiva prapitAmahaiH ॥ 2-17-8- and honouring each person according to his rank, he passed on. Followed by your grandfathers and great grandfathers .- ॥ 2-17-8॥

    नानामाल्योपगंधैश्च सदाभ्यर्चितचत्वरम् । आशीर्वादान् बहून् शृण्वन् सुहृद्भिः समुदीरितान् ॥ २-१७-७nAnAmAlyopagaMdhaizca sadAbhyarcitacatvaram । AzIrvAdAn bahUn zRNvan suhRdbhiH samudIritAn ॥ 2-17-7- fragrant substances like sandal wood, agaru and garlands of every kind, the crossroads were always worshipped. Hearing many words of blessings uttered by his friends . - ॥ 2-17-7॥

    ददर्श तं राजपथं दिवि देवपतिर्यथा । दध्यक्षतहविर्लाजैर्धूपैरगुरुचंदनैः ॥ २-१७-६dadarza taM rAjapathaM divi devapatiryathA । dadhyakSatahavirlAjairdhUpairagurucaMdanaiH ॥ 2-17-6Rama beheld the highway resembling the pathway of gods in heaven. Here, with curd, grains of rice, sacrificial libations, laja or puffed rice - ॥ 2-17-6॥

By that (Sita) devi, surely great austerities performed in the past . - ॥ 2-16-41॥
