Seeing this gigantic demon, everyone, in great fear, ran here and there in all directions. ॥ 6-9-17 ॥

    दरीगम्भीरवक्त्रेण पिबता च नभस्तलम् । लिहता जिह्वयर्क्षाणि ग्रसता भुवनत्रयम् ॥ ६-९-१६ ॥darIgambhIravaktreNa pibatA ca nabhastalam । lihatA jihvayarkSANi grasatA bhuvanatrayam ॥ 6-9-16 ॥As he yawned again and again, he seemed to be trying to swallow the whole sky with his mouth, which was as deep as a cave. ॥ 6-9-16 ॥

Dancing and shouting with a loud voice, he made the entire surface of the earth tremble as if from an earthquake. ॥ 6-9-15 ॥

The hair on the demon’s body and his beard and moustache were the color of melted copper, and his eyes were piercing like the midday sun. ॥ 6-9-14 ॥

    कृतान्त इव लोकानां युगान्तसमये यथा । विष्वग्विवर्धमानं तमिषुमात्रं दिने दिने ॥ ६-९-१३ ॥kRtAnta iva lokAnAM yugAntasamaye yathA । viSvagvivardhamAnaM tamiSumAtraM dine dine ॥ 6-9-13 ॥Who looked like the destroyer of the entire creation at the end of the millennium. Like arrows released in the four directions, the demon’s body grew, day after day. ॥ 6-9-13 ॥

    इन्द्रशत्रो विवर्धस्व मा चिरं जहि विद्विषम् । अथान्वाहार्यपचनादुत्थितो घोरदर्शनः ॥ ६-९-१२ ॥indrazatro vivardhasva mA ciraM jahi vidviSam । athAnvAhAryapacanAdutthito ghoradarzanaH ॥ 6-9-12 ॥He offered oblations in the sacrificial fire, saying, “O enemy of Indra, flourish to kill your enemy without delay.” Thereafter, from the southern side of the sacrificial fire known as Anvāhārya came a fearful personality, ॥ 6-9-12 ॥

When one collects water, these should be avoided. After Viśvarūpa was killed, his father, Tvaṣṭā, performed ritualistic ceremonies to kill Indra. ॥ 6-9-11 ॥

And in return for King Indra’s benediction that water would increase the volume of other substances with which it was mixed, water accepted one fourth of the sinful reactions. ॥ 6-9-10 ॥
