जग्मुर्मधुवनं यत्र नदीवेग इव द्रुमम् । ते प्रविष्टा मधुवनं पालानाक्रम्य वीर्यतः ॥ ५-६२-६
- went to Madhuvanam swiftly like a fast flowing river going to uproot a tree. The vanaras entered Madhuvanam and attacked the guards violently . - [5-62-6]

अतिसर्गाच्च पटवो दृष्ट्वा श्रुत्वा च मैथिलीम् । पपुस्सर्वे मधु तदा रसवत्फलमाददुः ॥ ५-६२-७
- overjoyed at the news of Mythili, being seen. They drank the honey and ate the tasty fruits. [5-62-7]
english translation
उत्पत्य च ततस्सर्वे वनपालान् समागतान् । ताडयन्ति स्म शतश स्सक्तान्मधुवने तदा ॥ ५-६२-८
All the vanaras collected together, entered the Madhuvanam and attacked in many ways the guards protecting the garden. [5-62-8]
english translation
मधूनि द्रोणमात्राणि बाहुभिः परिगृह्य ते । पिबन्ति सहिता स्सर्वे निघ्नन्ति स्म तथापरे ॥ ५-६२-९
All of them now gathered at one place and drank honey from large containers (large containers made of leather, a drona is a measure of two litres). Others were busy preventing the guards. [5-62-9]

केचित्पीत्वा प्रविध्यन्ति मधूनि मधुपिङ्गलाः । मधूच्छिष्टेन केचिच्च जग्मुरन्योन्यमुत्कटाः ॥ ५-६२-१०
The honeycoloured monkeys drank honey. Some threw large chunks of honey combs after drinking and some went about intoxicated. [5-62-10]
