Ramayana
कृतकामो महीं सर्वां चचार तपसि स्थितः । एवं त्वनेन ब्राह्मण्यं प्राप्तं राम महात्मना ॥ १-६५-२८
This illustrious sage ( Vishvamitra ) having fulfilled his desire, wandered over the earth fixed in asceticism. Oh ! Rama thus he acquired brahminhood.
english translation
kRtakAmo mahIM sarvAM cacAra tapasi sthitaH । evaM tvanena brAhmaNyaM prAptaM rAma mahAtmanA ॥ 1-65-28
