Ramayana
द्वावयाचत भर्तारं सत्यसन्धं नृपोत्तमम् । नाद्य भोक्ष्ये न च स्वप्स्ये न पास्येच कथञ्चन ॥ ३-४७-८
- besought two boons from him, the truthful and the best of kings ( king Dasaratha ). 'Today, I shall not eat, or sleep or even drink in any way . - ॥ 3-47-8॥
english translation
dvAvayAcata bhartAraM satyasandhaM nRpottamam । nAdya bhokSye na ca svapsye na pAsyeca kathaJcana ॥ 3-47-8
