अजा बभूवुर्धूम्राश्च सङ्गताः परमर्षयः । तेषां दयार्थं गरुडस्तां शाखां शतयोजनाम् ॥ ३-३५-३१

- ajas and dhumras, the great sages were gathered under the great tree. Out of compassion for the (endangered) seers Garuda upto hundred yojana - [3-35-31]

english translation

जगामादाय वेगेन तौ चोभौ गजकच्छपौ । एकपादेन धर्मात्मा भक्षयित्वा तदामिषम् ॥ ३-३५-३२

- carried away that long branch along with the elephant and the tortoise with great speed. The righteous one ( Garuda ) stood on one foot and ate the flesh (of elephant and tortoise). [3-35-32]

english translation

निषादविषयं हत्वा शाखया पतगोत्तमः । प्रहर्षमतुलं लेभे मोक्षयित्वा महामुनीन् ॥ ३-३५-३३

The best among the birds ( Garuda ) with the branch of the tree, destroyed the settlement of the demons. Over the destruction of the demons and deliverance of the great seers he felt immeasurable happiness. [3-35-33]

english translation

स तेनैव प्रहर्षेण द्विगुणीकृतविक्रमः । अमृतानयनार्थं वै चकार मतिमान्मतिम् ॥ ३-३५-३४

Quite happy, his energy redoubled, wise Garuda made up his mind to obtain nectar. [3-35-34]

english translation

अयोजालानि निर्मथ्य भित्वा रत्नमयं गृहम् । महेन्द्रभवनात् गुप्तमाजहारामृतं ततः ॥ ३-३५-३५

Twisting and twirling the grills of the window, he broke open the room made of gems and quietly carried away the nectar from Indra's mansion. [3-35-35]
