उपप्लवन्त वित्रस्ता रथेभ्यॊ रथिनस तदा सादिनश चाश्वपृष्ठेभ्यॊ भूमौ चापि पदातयः ।। ४-५७-६ ।।

'Struck with fear, the chariot-warriors leapt from their cars, the horse-soldiers abandoned their mounts, and the foot-soldiers fled in all directions.' ।। 4-57-6 ।।

upaplavanta vitrastA rathebhyò rathinasa tadA sAdinaza cAzvapRSThebhyò bhUmau cApi padAtayaH || 4-57-6 ||

शरैः संताड्यमानानां कवचानां महात्मनाम ताम्रराजतलॊहानां परादुरासीन महास्वनः ।। ४-५७-७ ।।

'The clatter of Arjuna’s arrows, as they pierced the coats of mail of mighty warriors wrought of steel, silver, and copper, resounded across the field.' ।। 4-57-7 ।।

'The field was soon strewn with the corpses of warriors on elephants and horses, all mangled by the shafts of Partha, shot with great force, like the striking of hissing serpents.' ।। 4-57-8 ।।
