तथा हि दृष्ट्वा बीभत्सुम उपायान्तं परशंसति यथा सेना न भज्येत तथा नीतिर विधीयताम ॥ ४-४२-२१ ॥
'Indeed, seeing Vibhatsu approaching, let a strategy be devised to ensure the army is not broken; let such a plan be made accordingly. ' ॥ 4-42-21 ॥
english translation
tathA hi dRSTvA bIbhatsuma upAyAntaM parazaMsati yathA senA na bhajyeta tathA nItira vidhIyatAma ॥ 4-42-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअदेशिका महारण्ये गरीष्मे शत्रुवशं गता यथा न विभ्रमेत सेना तथा नीतिर विधीयताम ॥ ४-४२-२२ ॥
'Arrange matters so that our troops—having come to a distant land in this harsh season and deep within this vast forest—do not fall into confusion or succumb to the enemy.' ॥ 4-42-22 ॥
english translation
adezikA mahAraNye garISme zatruvazaM gatA yathA na vibhrameta senA tathA nItira vidhIyatAma ॥ 4-42-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअश्वानां हेषितं शरुत्वा का परशंसा भवेत परे सथाने वापि वरजन्तॊ वा सदा हेषन्ति वाजिनः ॥ ४-४२-२३ ॥
'The Pandavas have always been the favored pupils of the preceptor. These selfish Pandavas have placed Drona among us. Indeed, he betrays his partiality through his words. Who would praise a person merely upon hearing the neighing of his steeds?' ॥ 4-42-23 ॥

azvAnAM heSitaM zarutvA kA parazaMsA bhaveta pare sathAne vApi varajantò vA sadA heSanti vAjinaH ॥ 4-42-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसदा च वायवॊ वान्ति नित्यं वर्षति वासवः सतनयित्नॊश च निर्घॊषः शरूयते बहुशस तथा ॥ ४-४२-२४ ॥
'Horses always neigh, whether walking or standing; the wind blows at all times, and Indra constantly sends rain. The roar of the clouds may often be heard.' ॥ 4-42-24 ॥

sadA ca vAyavò vAnti nityaM varSati vAsavaH satanayitnòza ca nirghòSaH zarUyate bahuzasa tathA ॥ 4-42-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकिम अत्र कार्यं पार्थस्य कथं वा स परशस्यते अन्यत्र कामाद दवेषाद वा रॊषाद वास्मासु केवलात ॥ ४-४२-२५ ॥
'What connection does Partha have with these natural sounds, and why should he be praised for them? All this, therefore, is either due to Drona’s desire to favor Arjuna or his resentment and hatred toward us. Yet preceptors are wise, sinless, and kind to all beings.' ॥ 4-42-25 ॥

kima atra kAryaM pArthasya kathaM vA sa parazasyate anyatra kAmAda daveSAda vA ròSAda vAsmAsu kevalAta ॥ 4-42-25 ॥
