'This chariot is truly worthy to bear a bowman such as yourself on the battlefield, and you are equally worthy to fight from this chariot. Such is my conviction!' ।। 4-40-22 ।।
[वै] ततॊ निर्मुच्य बाहुभ्यां वलयानि स वीर्यवान चित्रे दुन्दुभिसंनादे परत्यमुञ्चत तले शुभे ।। ४-४०-२३ ।।
'[Vaiṣṇava:] Then, freeing his arms from the bracelets, the mighty hero, amidst the sounding of the splendid kettledrum, released his grip on the auspicious ground.' ।। 4-40-23 ।।
'He bound his black, curling hair with a piece of white cloth. Seated on that excellent chariot facing east, the mighty-armed hero purified his body and focused his mind, summoning all his weapons to his remembrance.' ।। 4-40-24 ।।
'As the bow was drawn by that agitated warrior, there arose a mighty sound—like the crashing of a great mountain being struck by another mountain.' ।। 4-40-25 ।।
