यॊ ऽयं वहति ते पार्ष्णिं दक्षिणाम अञ्चितॊद्यतः बलाहकाद अपि मतः स जवे वीर्यवत्तरः ॥ ४-४०-२१ ॥
'And this fourth horse, yoked to the rear right pole, is regarded as superior to Valahaka in both speed and strength.' ॥ 4-40-21 ॥
english translation
yò 'yaM vahati te pArSNiM dakSiNAma aJcitòdyataH balAhakAda api mataH sa jave vIryavattaraH ॥ 4-40-21 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतवाम एवायं रथॊ वॊढुं संग्रामे ऽरहति धन्विनम तवं चेमं रथम आस्थाय यॊद्धुम अर्हॊ मतॊ मम ॥ ४-४०-२२ ॥
'This chariot is truly worthy to bear a bowman such as yourself on the battlefield, and you are equally worthy to fight from this chariot. Such is my conviction!' ॥ 4-40-22 ॥
english translation
tavAma evAyaM rathò vòDhuM saMgrAme 'rahati dhanvinama tavaM cemaM rathama AsthAya yòddhuma arhò matò mama ॥ 4-40-22 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscript[वै] ततॊ निर्मुच्य बाहुभ्यां वलयानि स वीर्यवान चित्रे दुन्दुभिसंनादे परत्यमुञ्चत तले शुभे ॥ ४-४०-२३ ॥
'॥ Vaiṣṇava:॥ Then, freeing his arms from the bracelets, the mighty hero, amidst the sounding of the splendid kettledrum, released his grip on the auspicious ground.' ॥ 4-40-23 ॥

[vai] tatò nirmucya bAhubhyAM valayAni sa vIryavAna citre dundubhisaMnAde paratyamuJcata tale zubhe ॥ 4-40-23 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptकृष्णान भङ्गीमतः केशाञ शवेतेनॊद्ग्रथ्य वाससा अधिज्यं तरसा कृत्वा गाण्डीवं वयाक्षिपद धनुः ॥ ४-४०-२४ ॥
'He bound his black, curling hair with a piece of white cloth. Seated on that excellent chariot facing east, the mighty-armed hero purified his body and focused his mind, summoning all his weapons to his remembrance.' ॥ 4-40-24 ॥

kRSNAna bhaGgImataH kezAJa zavetenòdgrathya vAsasA adhijyaM tarasA kRtvA gANDIvaM vayAkSipada dhanuH ॥ 4-40-24 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्य विक्षिप्यमाणस्य धनुषॊ ऽभून महास्वनः यथा शैलस्य महतः शैलेनैवाभिजघ्नुर अः ॥ ४-४०-२५ ॥
'As the bow was drawn by that agitated warrior, there arose a mighty sound—like the crashing of a great mountain being struck by another mountain.' ॥ 4-40-25 ॥

tasya vikSipyamANasya dhanuSò 'bhUna mahAsvanaH yathA zailasya mahataH zailenaivAbhijaghnura aH ॥ 4-40-25 ॥
