जहीमम अपि पापं तवं यॊ ऽयं माम अवमन्यते कीचकॊ राजवाल्लभ्याच छॊककृन मम भारत ।। ४-२०-३१ ।।

'Now, slay this wretch also — he who has so grievously insulted me. Presuming upon his position as the king’s favourite, Kichaka, O Bharata, has only deepened my sorrow.' ।। 4-20-31 ।।

english translation

jahImama api pApaM tavaM yò 'yaM mAma avamanyate kIcakò rAjavAllabhyAca chòkakRna mama bhArata || 4-20-31 ||

तम एवं कामसंम्मत्तं भिन्धि कुम्भम इवाश्मनि यॊ निमित्तम अनर्थानां बहूनां मम भारत ।। ४-२०-३२ ।।

'Therefore, strike down this lustful wretch — shatter him like an earthen pot dashed against a rock. If, O Bharata, the sun rises tomorrow upon the man who is the cause of so many of my griefs.' ।। 4-20-32 ।।

english translation

tama evaM kAmasaMmmattaM bhindhi kumbhama ivAzmani yò nimittama anarthAnAM bahUnAM mama bhArata || 4-20-32 ||

तं चेज जीवन्तम आदित्यः परातर अभ्युदयिष्यति विषम आलॊड्य पास्यामि मां कीचक वशं गमम शरेयॊ हि मरणं मह्यं भीमसेन तवाग्रतः ।। ४-२०-३३ ।।

'If the sun should rise tomorrow and that man still lives, I will stir poison into my drink and consume it — For I will never submit to Kichaka. Better by far is death for me, O Bhimasena, and that too in your presence.' ।। 4-20-33 ।।

[वै] इत्य उक्त्वा परारुदत कृष्णा भीमस्यॊरः समाश्रिता भीमश च तां परिष्वज्य महत सान्त्वं परयुज्य च कीचकं मनसागच्छत सृक्किणी परिसंलिहन ।। ४-२०-३४ ।।

'Vaisampayana continued: Having spoken thus, Krishna hid her face in Bhima’s chest and began to weep. Bhima embraced her and did his utmost to console her. With words full of weight and reason, he comforted the slender-waisted daughter of Drupada, wiping away the tears that streamed down her face with his own hands. Then, thinking of Kichaka, and licking the corners of his mouth in fury, Bhima—his heart ablaze with wrath—spoke thus to that anguished lady. ' ।। 4-20-34 ।।

english translation

[vai] itya uktvA parArudata kRSNA bhImasyòraH samAzritA bhImaza ca tAM pariSvajya mahata sAntvaM parayujya ca kIcakaM manasAgacchata sRkkiNI parisaMlihana || 4-20-34 ||
