कौरवेषु निवृत्तेषु पाण्डवा जितकाशिनः । सिंहनादमकुर्वन्त शङ्खवेणुस्वनैः सह॥६-६०-७१॥
When the Kauravas withdrew, the Pāṇḍavas—conquerors of Kāśi—raised lion-like shouts, together with the sounds of conches and flutes.

एवं तदभवद्युद्धं दिवसं भरतर्षभ । पाण्डवानां कुरूणां च पुरस्कृत्य घटोत्कचम्॥६-६०-७२॥
Thus, O bull among the Bharatas, the day’s battle unfolded between the Pāṇḍavas and the Kurus, with Ghaṭotkaca set in the forefront.

कौरवास्तु ततो राजन्प्रययुः शिबिरं स्वकम् । व्रीडमाना निशाकाले पाण्डवेयैः पराजिताः॥६-६०-७३॥
Then, O king, the Kauravas went by night to their own camp, ashamed, having been overcome by the Pāṇḍavas.

शरविक्षतगात्राश्च पाण्डुपुत्रा महारथाः । युद्धे सुमनसो भूत्वा शिबिरायैव जग्मिरे॥६-६०-७४॥
The sons of Pāṇḍu, great chariot-warriors, though their bodies were pierced by arrows, took heart in the battle and went back to the camp.

पुरस्कृत्य महाराज भीमसेनघटोत्कचौ । पूजयन्तस्तदान्योन्यं मुदा परमया युताः॥६-६०-७५॥
Setting Bhīmasena and Ghaṭotkaca at the fore, O great king, they then honored one another, filled with supreme joy.
