Arjuna said: What is that Brahman? What is called adhyātma? What is karma, O Puruṣottama? And what is termed adhibhūta, and what is called adhidaiva?

english translation

Who is the adhiyajña, and how is he present here in this body, O Madhusūdana? And how are You to be known at the time of departure by those who are self-controlled?

english translation

The Blessed Lord said: The supreme Brahman is the Imperishable; one’s intrinsic nature is called adhyātma. The projection that brings forth the arising of states of beings is termed karma.

english translation

The adhibhūta is the perishable mode of existence; the adhidaiva is the Puruṣa. And I myself am the adhiyajña here in the body, O best of embodied beings.

english translation

And at the final time, remembering me alone while relinquishing the body, whoever departs attains my state of being; of this there is no doubt.
