Then the Cedis, Pāñcālas, Karūṣas, Matsyas, and all the Pārthas together raised a great roar, unsettling the forces of the army-commanders—like a lion scattering herds of deer. At that time the wielder of Gāṇḍīva and Janārdana also sounded their calls, filled with exhilaration.

english translation

Then, seeing the sun with its net of rays withdrawn, and being grievously wounded by weapons, they looked upon the Indra-weapon spread forth—exceedingly formidable, unbearable to behold, resembling a world-ending catastrophe.

english translation

Thereafter the Kurus—together with Bhīṣma, Droṇa, Duryodhana, and Bāhlika—began to withdraw, observing that night had arrived, marked by the sun’s reddish streaks at twilight.

english translation

Having attained renown and fame in the world, and having overcome his adversaries, Dhanaṃjaya too—his operation concluded—went to the camp at night along with the kings and his brothers. Thereupon, at the beginning of night, a tumultuous and even more dreadful clamor arose among the Kurus.

english translation

In the battle, Arjuna neutralized ten thousand chariots, and by him seven hundred elephants were brought down. The Prācyas and all the Sauvīra contingents were also felled, as were the Kṣudrakas and the Mālavas. A mighty deed was accomplished by Dhanaṃjaya—such as no other could readily perform.
