I wish to see you as before—wearing the diadem, bearing the mace, and holding the discus. Become again that same four-armed form, O thousand-armed one, O embodiment of the universe.

english translation

The Blessed Lord said: Out of graciousness toward you, O Arjuna, this supreme form has been shown by me through my own yogic power—radiant, universal, infinite, primordial—such as has not been seen before by anyone other than you.

english translation

Not by Vedic study, nor by sacrifice and learning, nor by gifts, nor by ritual acts, nor by fierce austerities can this form of Mine be seen in the human world by anyone other than you, O foremost hero of the Kurus.

english translation

Let there be no distress for you, nor any bewilderment, upon seeing this formidable form of Mine. With fear dispelled and your mind made calm, now behold again this very form of Mine.

english translation

Sañjaya said: Having thus spoken to Arjuna, Vāsudeva again revealed his own form. And the great-souled one, returning once more to a gentle appearance, reassured him who had been overcome by fear.
