As little use as a well has when water is available everywhere, so limited is the use of all the Vedas for the discerning brāhmaṇa who truly knows.

english translation

Your entitlement is to action alone, never at any time to its results. Do not let the fruits of action be your motive, and do not cling to non-action.

english translation

Established in yoga, perform your actions, O Dhanaṃjaya, having abandoned attachment; equal in success and non-success—this equanimity is called yoga.

english translation

Action performed with attachment is far inferior to the yoga of understanding, O Dhanaṃjaya. Seek refuge in buddhi (discernment); those who act for the sake of results are impoverished in wisdom.

english translation

One endowed with disciplined discernment relinquishes here both merit and demerit. Therefore, commit yourself to yoga; yoga is skillfulness in action.
