Similarly, excessive indulgence in desires, fear, anxiety, anger, and grief severely disturbs the mind in individuals, leading to the manifestation of epilepsy (Apasmara).

इसी प्रकार, इच्छाएं, भय, चिंता, क्रोध और शोक में अत्यधिक लिप्तता व्यक्ति के मन को गंभीर रूप से परेशान करती है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप मिर्गी (अपस्मार) रोग प्रकट होता है।

हृत्कम्पः शून्यता स्वेदो ध्यानं मूर्च्छा प्रमूढता । निद्रानाशश्च तस्मिंस्तु भविष्यति भवन्त्यथ ॥७॥

Palpitations of the heart, a sense of emptiness, sweating, pensiveness, fainting, mental confusion, and insomnia are the symptoms that typically precede an episode of epilepsy (Apasmara).

हृदय की धड़कन तेज होना, खालीपन की भावना, पसीना आना, चिंताग्रस्त होना, बेहोशी, मानसिक भ्रम और अनिद्रा ऐसे लक्षण हैं जो आमतौर पर मिर्गी (अपस्मार) के दौरे से पहले होते हैं।

सञ्ज्ञावहेषु स्रोतःसु दोषव्याप्तेषु मानवः । रजस्तमःपरीतेषु मूढो भ्रान्तेन चेतसा ॥८॥

When the sense-carrying channels (Srotas) are overwhelmed by the aggravated Doshas, and the mind is dominated by Rajas and Tamas, the person becomes deluded and confused in consciousness.

जब इंद्रिय-संवाहक नाड़ियां (स्रोत) बढ़े हुए दोषों से अभिभूत हो जाती हैं, और मन पर राजस और तम का प्रभुत्व हो जाता है, तो व्यक्ति भ्रमित हो जाता है और चेतना में भ्रमित हो जाता है।

विक्षिपन् हस्तपादं च विजिह्मभ्रूर्विलोचनः । दन्तान् खादन् वमन् फेनं विवृताक्षः पतेत् क्षितौ ॥९॥

Throwing about his hands and feet, with distorted eyebrows and eyes, grinding his teeth, foaming at the mouth, and with wide-open eyes, he falls to the ground.

वह अपने हाथ-पैर इधर-उधर फेंकता है, उसकी भौंहें और आंखें विकृत हो जाती हैं, वह दांत पीसता है, उसके मुंह से झाग निकलता है और उसकी आंखें बड़ी-बड़ी हो जाती हैं और वह जमीन पर गिर पड़ता है।

अल्पकालान्तरं चापि पुनः सञ्ज्ञां लभेत सः । सोऽपस्मार इति प्रोक्तः--- । --- स च दृष्टश्चतुर्विधः ॥१०॥

After a short interval, he regains consciousness. This condition is termed Apasmara (epilepsy), and it is observed to be of four types.
