On those days, offerings should be made to prevent the influence of the spirits. In the temples of the gods and to the celestial beings, the fire should be kindled, and the offerings should be made with devotion.

In the midst of the cows, the offerings should include wine, meat, water, and other substances associated with the Gandharva, as well as sweet offerings like those for the Yaksha's house, including things like butter, milk, and the like. These should be prepared with devotion.

He should offer the oblation with flowers of atimuktaka (a type of jasmine) and lotus, and in the river, for the appeasement of the Pitṛ-graha (ancestral spirits), the oblation should be made with kusha grass, used as a covering or adornment.
