कृमीन् बहुविधाकारान् करोति विविधाश्रयान् । आमपक्वाशये तेषां कफविड्जन्मनां पुनः । धमन्यां रक्तजानां च प्रसवः प्रायशः स्मृतः ॥६॥

The worms assume various forms and take shelter in different parts of the body. They are produced in the stomach and intestines (in the undigested or partially digested state), and are often known to originate from Kapha or blood, particularly in the veins. These worms, when they proliferate, lead to diseases associated with these doshas.

कीड़े विभिन्न रूप धारण करते हैं और शरीर के विभिन्न भागों में शरण लेते हैं। वे पेट और आंतों में (अपचित या आंशिक रूप से पची हुई अवस्था में) उत्पन्न होते हैं, और अक्सर कफ या रक्त से उत्पन्न होते हैं, विशेष रूप से नसों में। ये कीड़े, जब बढ़ते हैं, तो इन दोषों से जुड़ी बीमारियों को जन्म देते हैं।

The twenty types of worms are classified into three categories based on their origin: from feces, from Kapha, and from blood. I will now describe them in detail.

अजवा विजवाः किप्याश्चिप्या गण्डूपदास्तथा । चूरवो द्विमुखाश्चैव ज्ञेयाः सप्त पुरीषजाः ॥८॥

The seven types of worms that originate from feces are: Ajava, Vijava, Kipya, Chipya, Gandupada, Chura, and Dvimukha. These are the Purishaja (fecal) worms.

श्वेताः सूक्ष्मास्तुदन्त्येते गुदं प्रतिसरन्ति च । तेषामेवापरे पुच्छैः पृथवश्च भवन्ति हि ॥९॥

These worms are white and extremely small. They enter the rectum and cause discomfort. Some of them grow tails and become thicker as they develop.

शूलाग्निमान्द्यपाण्डुत्वविष्टम्भबलसङ्क्षयाः । प्रसेकारुचिहृद्रोगविड्भेदास्तु पुरीषजैः ॥१०॥

The symptoms caused by the fecal worms include pain (Shula), burning sensations, loss of appetite, pallor, constipation, weakness, and a decrease in strength. Additionally, there may be indigestion, heart disease, and bloating.
