कुर्यात् कषायं च यथेरितेन ... | ... मधूकपुष्पादिषु चापरेषु | राजादनक्षीरिकपीतनेषु षट् पानकान्यत्र हितानि च स्युः ||२६||

The physician should prepare a decoction as previously described, and it should also include the Madhuka flowers and other similar herbs. Six different kinds of drinks (panakas), prepared with ingredients such as Rajadana, Kshirika, and others, are also beneficial in such cases and can be prescribed as necessary. These remedies are useful in treating thirst, providing relief to the afflicted.

The patient should drink a mixture made from the fruits of Tundikeri (wild cotton) or from the paste of cotton seeds. This drink, prepared with these ingredients, is effective in alleviating thirst that arises from wounds or injury. It helps in purifying the bodily fluids and provides relief from the symptoms of thirst caused by such conditions.

Thirst arising from depletion (Kshayaja) can be cured by drinking a mixture of milk and clarified butter, or meat soup or honeyed water. The addition of Bilva (Aegle marmelos) and Vacha (Acorus calamus) helps in the therapeutic effect. These drinks, combined with appropriate decoctions, are effective in alleviating thirst and restoring balance.

The thirst arising from depletion (Kshayaja) can be cured by drinking decoctions made from Amra (mango), Bhallata (Ballota), and Bala (Sida cordifolia). These should be combined with digestives and heavy tonics. Vomiting induced by these preparations can also help alleviate excessive thirst, especially when it is caused by the depletion of bodily fluids.

Thirst arising from fatigue (Shramodbhava) can be alleviated by drinking meat soups (Mamsarasa), or alternatively, by consuming water with jaggery (Gudodaka) or even a warm barley drink (Mantha). If the thirst is caused by obstruction during digestion, drinking warm barley soup or even cold water with cooling properties (Hima) can be beneficial.
