द्वेषः सुरान्नविकृतेषु च तेषु तेषु तं पानविभ्रममुशन्त्यखिलेन धीराः | हीनोत्तरौष्ठमतिशीतममन्ददाहं तैलप्रभास्यमति(पि)पानहतं विजह्यात् ||२२||

The wise individuals, who are free from attachment to intoxicating substances, refrain from consuming wine in excessive or distorted forms. They avoid it, especially when it leads to a loss of mental clarity. When faced with symptoms like bitterness, excessive cold, and a lack of proper digestion due to improper wine consumption, they discard it, even if it appears to have some temporary appeal, such as the gloss of oil or luster.

english translation

बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति, जो मादक पदार्थों के प्रति आसक्ति से मुक्त होते हैं, वे अत्यधिक या विकृत रूप में शराब का सेवन करने से बचते हैं। वे इससे बचते हैं, खासकर तब जब इससे मानसिक स्पष्टता में कमी आती है। जब शराब के अनुचित सेवन के कारण कड़वाहट, अत्यधिक ठंड और उचित पाचन की कमी जैसे लक्षण सामने आते हैं, तो वे इसे त्याग देते हैं, भले ही इसमें कुछ अस्थायी आकर्षण हो, जैसे कि तेल की चमक या चमक।
