yathovAca bhagavAn dhanvantariH ॥2॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयथोक्तैः कोपनैर्दोषाः कुपिताः कोष्ठमागताः । जनयन्ति नृणां गुल्मं स पञ्चविध उच्यते ॥३॥
By the aggravation of the doshas (bodily humors) due to anger, they reach the stomach (Koshtha) and cause Gulma (abdominal disorders), which is said to be of five kinds.

क्रोध के कारण दोषों के बढ़ने से वे पेट (कोष्ठ) में पहुँचकर गुल्म (पेट के रोग) उत्पन्न करते हैं, जो पाँच प्रकार के कहे गए हैं।

yathoktaiH kopanairdoSAH kupitAH koSThamAgatAH । janayanti nRNAM gulmaM sa paJcavidha ucyate ॥3॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptहृद्बस्त्योरन्तरे ग्रन्थिः सञ्चारी यदि वाऽचलः । चयापचयवान् वृत्तः स गुल्म इति कीर्तितः ॥४॥
If there is a knot or obstruction between the heart and bladder, which is either movable or fixed, and causes a cyclical increase and decrease, it is said to be Gulma.

यदि हृदय और मूत्राशय के बीच कोई गांठ या अवरोध हो, जो चलायमान हो या स्थिर हो, तथा चक्रीय वृद्धि और कमी का कारण बनता हो, तो उसे गुल्म कहा जाता है।

hRdbastyorantare granthiH saJcArI yadi vA'calaH । cayApacayavAn vRttaH sa gulma iti kIrtitaH ॥4॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपञ्च गुल्माश्रया नॄणां पार्श्वे हृन्नाभिबस्तयः । गुपितानिलमूलत्वाद्गूढमूलोदयादपि ॥५॥
There are five types of Gulma in humans, which are located in the sides, heart, navel, and bladder. Due to the hidden nature of the underlying causes and their connection to the disturbances in the wind (Vata), their origin is subtle and not easily perceptible.

मनुष्यों में पाँच प्रकार के गुल्म होते हैं, जो पार्श्व, हृदय, नाभि और मूत्राशय में स्थित होते हैं। अंतर्निहित कारणों की छिपी प्रकृति और वायु (वात) में गड़बड़ी से उनके संबंध के कारण, उनकी उत्पत्ति सूक्ष्म होती है और आसानी से समझ में नहीं आती।
