संशम्यापान्धातुरन्तः कृशानुं वर्चोमिश्रो मारुतेन प्रणुन्नः । वृद्धोऽतीवाधः सरत्येष यस्माद्व्याधिं घोरं तं त्वतीसारमाहुः ॥६॥
When the vital fluids inside the body are disturbed and the internal fire (digestive power) is suppressed, the fecal matter, mixed with bodily fluids, is forcibly expelled by the aggravated Vata. This excessive downward movement is referred to as the severe condition known as Atisara (diarrhea).

जब शरीर के अंदर महत्वपूर्ण तरल पदार्थ परेशान होते हैं और आंतरिक अग्नि (पाचन शक्ति) दब जाती है, तो मल पदार्थ, शारीरिक तरल पदार्थों के साथ मिलकर, उत्तेजित वात द्वारा जबरन बाहर निकाल दिया जाता है। इस अत्यधिक नीचे की ओर गति को अतिसार (दस्त) के रूप में जाना जाता है।
