कर्णं कोष्णेन चुक्रेण पूरयेत् कर्णशूलिनः । समुद्रफेनचूर्णेन युक्त्या चाप्यवचूर्णयेत् ॥२६॥
The ear should be filled with lukewarm Chukra (a kind of sour gruel) to treat earache (Karna-shula). Alternatively, the ear should be dusted with powdered Samudra-phena (sea-salt) mixed appropriately to help alleviate the pain.

The physician should prepare a four-fold type of medicated oil by boiling it with the types of urine that are beneficial for pacifying the Vata dosha and those that are antiseptic. This oil should then be used to fill both ears to alleviate ear pain (Karna-shula).
