अथातः सन्धिगतरोगविज्ञानीयमध्यायं व्याख्यास्यामः ॥१॥
Now we shall discourse on the chapter which deals with the pathology of diseases which are peculiar to the joints or binding membranes of the eye.

The nine diseases specific to the joints (Sandhi) of the eye are known as Puyalasa, Upanaha, the various Sravas, Parvani, Alaji, and Krimi-granthi.

आंखों के जोड़ों (संधि) से संबंधित नौ रोगों को पुयलासा, उपनाहा, विभिन्न श्राव, पर्वणी, अलजी और कृमि-ग्रंथि के नाम से जाना जाता है।

A ripened (suppurated) swelling arising at a joint (Sandhi) of the eye, discharging thick and fetid pus, is called Puyalasa. A painless, large cyst (Granthi) at the union of the pupil (with the Krishna-mandala), marked primarily by itching and minimal suppuration, is known as Upanaha.

आँख के जोड़ (संधि) पर उत्पन्न होने वाली पकी हुई (पकी हुई) सूजन, जिसमें से गाढ़ा और बदबूदार मवाद निकलता है, को पुयलासा कहते हैं। पुतली (कृष्ण-मंडल के साथ) के मिलन पर एक दर्द रहित, बड़ी पुटी (ग्रंथि), जिसमें मुख्य रूप से खुजली और कम से कम मवाद होता है, को उपनाहा कहते हैं।

hk transliteration by Sanscriptगत्वा सन्धीनश्रुमार्गेण दोषाः कुर्युः स्रावान् रुग्विहीनान् कनीनात् । तान् वै स्रावान् नेत्रनाडीमथैके तस्या लिङ्गं कीर्तयिष्ये चतुर्धा ॥५॥
The Doshas, passing through the lachrymal ducts into the joints (Sandhis) of the eye, produce discharges (Sravas) that are painless and flow from the canthus. These discharges are known as Sravas and are also called Netra-nadi by some authorities. Their symptoms are classified into four types, which I shall now describe.

दोष, अश्रु नलिकाओं से होते हुए आँख के जोड़ों (संधि) में पहुँचते हैं, तथा स्राव (श्रवण) उत्पन्न करते हैं जो दर्द रहित होते हैं तथा कैन्थस से बहते हैं। इन स्रावों को श्रवण कहते हैं तथा कुछ विशेषज्ञ इन्हें नेत्र-नाड़ी भी कहते हैं। इनके लक्षणों को चार प्रकारों में वर्गीकृत किया गया है, जिनका वर्णन मैं अब करूँगा।
