दृष्टिप्रसादजननं विधिमाशु कुर्यात् स्निग्धैर्हिमैश्च मधुरैश्च तथा प्रयोगैः । स्वेदाग्निधूमभयशोकरुजाभिघातैरभ्याहतामपि तथैव भिषक् चिकित्सेत् ॥४॥

The physician should promptly apply the method that brings relief to the eye, using soothing, cooling, and sweet substances. Even if the eye is affected by sweating, fire, smoke, fear, grief, or pain, the physician should treat the injured eye in the same manner.

english translation

चिकित्सक को तुरन्त उस विधि को अपनाना चाहिए जिससे आँख को आराम मिले, सुखदायक, शीतल और मधुर पदार्थों का उपयोग करना चाहिए। भले ही आँख पसीने, आग, धुआँ, भय, शोक या दर्द से प्रभावित हो, चिकित्सक को घायल आँख का उसी तरह से इलाज करना चाहिए।
