युक्तौ कृतौ दाहशोफरुग्धर्षस्रावनाशनौ । कण्डूपदेहदूषीकारक्तराजिविनाशनौ ॥४१॥
The ones that are appropriate and well-prepared, relieve burning sensations, swelling, pain, inflammation, and discharge, and also eliminate the impurities and redness, thus promoting the health of the eyes.

Therefore, one should avoid the doshas and apply the remedies that are beneficial, and by using proper nasal and smoking anointing treatments, the affliction can be overcome according to the nature of the doshas.

In both the beginning and end stages, sweating with warm water and steeped clothes is beneficial, and similarly, the smoke is effective in cases of excessive phlegm.

The treatment should be suited to the dosha, not excessively strong, as the disease is killed by the soothing eye wash, while the more potent wash is even more effective.
