न सन्ति तीर्थे युधि चार्थिनार्थिताः पराङ्मुखा ये त्वमनस्विनो नृपाः । युष्मत्कुले यद्यशसामलेन प्रह्लाद उद्भाति यथोडुपः खे ।। ८-१९-४ ।।

sanskrit

O King Bali, never in your dynasty has the low-minded king been born who upon being requested has refused charity to brāhmaṇas in holy places or a fight to kṣatriyas on a battlefield. And your dynasty is even more glorious due to the presence of Prahlāda Mahārāja, who is like the beautiful moon in the sky. ।। 8-19-4 ।।

english translation

हे राजा बलि! तुम्हारे कुल में कभी भी ऐसा क्षुद्र हृदय वाला राजा उत्पन्न नहीं हुआ जिसने तीर्थस्थानों में ब्राह्मणों द्वारा माँगे जावे पर दान न दिया हो या युद्धभूमि में क्षत्रियों से लडऩे से मना किया हो। तुम्हारा वंश तो प्रह्लाद महाराज के कारण और भी यशस्वी है क्योंकि वे आकाश में सुन्दर चन्द्रमा के समान हैं। ।। ८-१९-४ ।।

na santi tIrthe yudhi cArthinArthitAH parAGmukhA ye tvamanasvino nRpAH | yuSmatkule yadyazasAmalena prahlAda udbhAti yathoDupaH khe || 8-19-4 ||
