श्रीभगवानुवाच कौतूहलाय दैत्यानां योषिद्वेषो मया कृतः । पश्यता सुरकार्याणि गते पीयूषभाजने ॥ ८-१२-१५ ॥
The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: When the demons took away the jug of nectar, I assumed the form of a beautiful woman to bewilder them by directly cheating them and thus to act in the interest of the demigods. ॥ 8-12-15 ॥
english translation
भगवान् ने कहा : जब असुरों ने अमृत घट छीन लिया तो मैंने उन्हें प्रत्यक्ष छलावा देकर मोहित करने के उद्देश्य से और इस तरह देवताओं के हित में कार्य करने के लिए, एक सुन्दर स्त्री का रूप धारण कर लिया। ॥ ८-१२-१५ ॥
