यथा जले चन्द्रमसः कम्पादिस्तत्कृतो गुणः । दृश्यतेऽसन्नपि द्रष्टुरात्मनोऽनात्मनो गुणः ॥ ३-७-११ ॥
As the moon reflected on water appears to the seer to tremble due to being associated with the quality of the water, so the self associated with matter appears to be qualified as matter. ॥ 3-7-11 ॥

जिस तरह जल में प्रतिबिम्बित चन्द्रमा जल के गुण से सम्बद्ध होने के कारण देखने वाले को हिलता हुआ प्रतीत होता है उसी तरह पदार्थ से सम्बद्ध आत्मा पदार्थ के ही समान प्रतीत होता है। ॥ ३-७-११ ॥

स वै निवृत्तिधर्मेण वासुदेवानुकम्पया । भगवद्भक्तियोगेन तिरोधत्ते शनैरिह ॥ ३-७-१२ ॥
But that misconception of self-identity can be diminished gradually by the mercy of the Personality of Godhead, Vāsudeva, through the process of devotional service to the Lord in the mode of detachment. ॥ 3-7-12 ॥

किन्तु आत्म-पहचान की उस भ्रान्ति को भगवान् वासुदेव की कृपा से विरक्त भाव से भगवान् की भक्तिमय सेवा की विधि के माध्यम से धीरे-धीरे कम किया जा सकता है। ॥ ३-७-१२ ॥

यदेन्द्रियोपरामोऽथ द्रष्ट्रात्मनि परे हरौ । विलीयन्ते तदा क्लेशाः संसुप्तस्येव कृत्स्नशः ॥ ३-७-१३ ॥
When the senses are satisfied in the seer-Supersoul, the Personality of Godhead, and merge in Him, all miseries are completely vanquished, as after a sound sleep. ॥ 3-7-13 ॥
english translation
जब इन्द्रियाँ द्रष्टा-परमात्मा अर्थात् भगवान् में तुष्ट हो जाती है और उनमें विलीन हो जाती है, तो सारे कष्ट उसी तरह पूर्णतया दूर हो जाते हैं जिस तरह ये गहरी नींद के बाद दूर हो जाते हैं। ॥ ३-७-१३ ॥

अशेषसङ्क्लेशशमं विधत्ते गुणानुवादश्रवणं मुरारेः । कुतः पुनस्तच्चरणारविन्दपरागसेवा रतिरात्मलब्धा ॥ ३-७-१४ ॥
Simply by chanting and hearing of the transcendental name, form, etc., of the Personality of Godhead, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, one can achieve the cessation of unlimited miserable conditions. Therefore what to speak of those who have attained attraction for serving the flavor of the dust of the Lord’s lotus feet? ॥ 3-7-14 ॥

भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण के दिव्य नाम, रूप इत्यादि के कीर्तन तथा श्रवण मात्र से मनुष्य की असीम कष्टप्रद अवस्थाएँ शमित हो सकती हैं। अतएव उनके विषय में क्या कहा जाये, जिन्होंने भगवान् के चरणकमलों की धूल की सुगंध की सेवा करने के लिए आकर्षण प्राप्त कर लिया हो? ॥ ३-७-१४ ॥

विदुर उवाच सञ्छिन्नः संशयो मह्यं तव सूक्तासिना विभो । उभयत्रापि भगवन् मनो मे सम्प्रधावति ॥ ३-७-१५ ॥
Vidura said: O powerful sage, my lord, all my doubts about the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the living entities have now been removed by your convincing words. My mind is now perfectly entering into them. ॥ 3-7-15 ॥

विदुर ने कहा : हे शक्तिशाली मुनि, मेरे प्रभु, आपके विश्वसनीय शब्दों से पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् तथा जीवों से सम्बन्धित मेरे सारे संशय अब दूर हो गये हैं। अब मेरा मन पूरी तरह से उनमें प्रवेश कर रहा है। ॥ ३-७-१५ ॥
