ऋषिरुवाच इति तासां स्वशक्तीनां सतीनामसमेत्य सः । प्रसुप्तलोकतन्त्राणां निशाम्य गतिमीश्वरः ॥ ३-६-१ ॥
The Ṛṣi Maitreya said: The Lord thus heard about the suspension of the progressive creative functions of the universe due to the noncombination of His potencies, such as the mahat-tattva. ॥ 3-6-1 ॥

मैत्रेय ऋषि ने कहा : इस तरह भगवान् ने महत्-तत्त्व जैसी अपनी शक्तियों के संयोग न होने के कारण विश्व के प्रगतिशील सृजनात्मक कार्यकलापों के निलम्बन के विषय में सुना। ॥ ३-६-१ ॥

कालसञ्ज्ञां तदा देवीं बिभ्रच्छक्तिमुरुक्रमः । त्रयोविंशति तत्त्वानां गणं युगपदाविशत् ॥ ३-६-२ ॥
The Supreme Powerful Lord then simultaneously entered into the twenty-three elements with the goddess Kālī, His external energy, who alone amalgamates all the different elements. ॥ 3-6-2 ॥

तब परम शक्तिशाली भगवान् ने अपनी बहिरंगा शक्ति, देवी काली सहित तेईस तत्त्वों के भीतर प्रवेश किया, क्योंकि वे ही विभिन्न प्रकार के तत्त्वों को संमेलित करती हैं। ॥ ३-६-२ ॥

सोऽनुप्रविष्टो भगवांश्चेष्टारूपेण तं गणम् । भिन्नं संयोजयामास सुप्तं कर्म प्रबोधयन् ॥ ३-६-३ ॥
Thus when the Personality of Godhead entered into the elements by His energy, all the living entities were enlivened into different activities, just as one is engaged in his work after awakening from sleep. ॥ 3-6-3 ॥
english translation
इस तरह जब भगवान् अपनी शक्ति से तत्त्वों के भीतर प्रविष्ट हो गये तो सारे जीव प्रबुद्ध होकर विभिन्न कार्यों में उसी तरह लग गये जिस तरह कोई व्यक्ति निद्रा से जगकर अपने कार्य में लग जाता है। ॥ ३-६-३ ॥

प्रबुद्धकर्मा दैवेन त्रयोविंशतिको गणः । प्रेरितोऽजनयत्स्वाभिर्मात्राभिरधिपूरुषम् ॥ ३-६-४ ॥
When the twenty-three principal elements were set in action by the will of the Supreme, the gigantic universal form, or the viśvarūpa body of the Lord, came into existence. ॥ 3-6-4 ॥

जब परम पुरुष की इच्छा से तेईस प्रमुख तत्त्वों को सक्रिय बना दिया गया तो भगवान् का विराट विश्वरूप शरीर प्रकट हुआ। ॥ ३-६-४ ॥

परेण विशता स्वस्मिन्मात्रया विश्वसृग्गणः । चुक्षोभान्योन्यमासाद्य यस्मिन् लोकाश्चराचराः ॥ ३-६-५ ॥
As the Lord, in His plenary portion, entered into the elements of the universal creation, they transformed into the gigantic form in which all the planetary systems and all movable and immovable creations rest. ॥ 3-6-5 ॥
english translation
ज्योंही भगवान् ने अपने स्वांश रूप में विश्व के सारे तत्त्वों में प्रवेश किया, त्योंही वे विराट रूप में रूपान्तरित हो गये जिसमें सारे लोक और समस्त जड़ तथा चेतन सृष्टियाँ टिकी हुई हैं। ॥ ३-६-५ ॥
