त्रैवर्गिकास्ते पुरुषा विमुखा हरिमेधसः । कथायां कथनीयोरुविक्रमस्य मधुद्विषः ।। ३-३२-१८ ।।

sanskrit

Such persons are called trai-vargika because they are interested in the three elevating processes. They are averse to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who can give relief to the conditioned soul. They are not interested in the Supreme Personality’s pastimes, which are worth hearing because of His transcendental prowess. ।। 3-32-18 ।।

english translation

ऐसे लोग त्रैवर्गिक कहलाते हैं, क्योंकि वे तीन उन्नतिकारी विधियों—पुरुषार्थों—में रुचि लेते हैं। वे उन भगवान् से विमुख हो जाते हैं, जो बद्धजीवों को विश्राम प्रदान करने वाले हैं। वे भगवान् की उन लीलाओं में कोई अभिरुचि नहीं दिखाते, जो भगवान् के दिव्य विक्रम के कारण श्रवण करने योग्य हैं। ।। ३-३२-१८ ।।
