आत्मनश्च परस्यापि यः करोत्यन्तरोदरम् । तस्य भिन्नदृशो मृत्युर्विदधे भयमुल्बणम् ।। ३-२९-२६ ।।

sanskrit

As the blazing fire of death, I cause great fear to whoever makes the least discrimination between himself and other living entities because of a differential outlook. ।। 3-29-26 ।।

english translation

` जो भी अपने में तथा अन्य जीवों के बीच भिन्न दृष्टिकोण के कारण तनिक भी भेदभाव करता है उसके लिए मैं मृत्यु की प्रज्वलित अग्नि के समान महान् भय उत्पन्न करता हूँ। ।। ३-२९-२६ ।।

sanskrit

Therefore, through charitable gifts and attention, as well as through friendly behavior and by viewing all to be alike, one should propitiate Me, who abide in all creatures as their very Self. ।। 3-29-27 ।।

english translation

अतः दान तथा सत्कार के साथ ही साथ मैत्रीपूर्ण आचरण से तथा सबों पर एक सी दृष्टि रखते हुए मनुष्य को मेरी पूजा करनी चाहिए, क्योंकि मैं सभी प्राणियों में उनके आत्मा के रूप में निवास करता हूँ । ।। ३-२९-२७ ।।

जीवाः श्रेष्ठा ह्यजीवानां ततः प्राणभृतः शुभे । ततः सचित्ताः प्रवरास्ततश्चेन्द्रियवृत्तयः ।। ३-२९-२८ ।।

Living entities are superior to inanimate objects, O blessed mother, and among them, living entities who display life symptoms are better. Animals with developed consciousness are better than them, and better still are those who have developed sense perception. ।। 3-29-28 ।।

english translation

हे कल्याणी माँ, जीवात्माएँ अचेतन पदार्थों से श्रेष्ठ हैं और इनमें से जो जीवन के लक्षणों से युक्त हैं, वे श्रेष्ठ हैं । इनकी अपेक्षा विकसित चेतना वाले पशु श्रेष्ठ हैं और इनसे भी श्रेष्ठ वे हैं जिनमें इन्द्रिय अनुभूति विकसित हो चुकी है। ।। ३-२९-२८ ।।

Among the living entities who have developed sense perception, those who have developed the sense of taste are better than those who have developed only the sense of touch. Better than them are those who have developed the sense of smell, and better still are those who have developed the sense of hearing. ।। 3-29-29 ।।

इन्द्रियवृत्ति (अनुभूति) से युक्त जीवों में से जिन्होंने स्वाद की अनुभूति विकसित कर ली है वे स्पर्श अनुभूति विकसित किये हुए जीवों से श्रेष्ठ हैं । इनसे भी श्रेष्ठ वे हैं जिन्होंने गंध की अनुभूति विकसति कर ली है और इनसे भी श्रेष्ठ वे हैं जिनकी श्रवणेन्द्रिय विकसित है । ।। ३-२९-२९ ।।

रूपभेदविदस्तत्र ततश्चोभयतो दतः । तेषां बहुपदाः श्रेष्ठाश्चतुष्पादस्ततो द्विपात् ।। ३-२९-३० ।।

Better than those living entities who can perceive sound are those who can distinguish between one form and another. Better than them are those who have developed upper and lower sets of teeth, and better still are those who have many legs. Better than them are the quadrupeds, and better still are the human beings. ।। 3-29-30 ।।

english translation

ध्वनि सुन सकने वाले प्राणियों की अपेक्षा वे श्रेष्ठ हैं, जो एक रूप तथा दूसरे रूप में अन्तर जान लेते हैं । इनसे भी अच्छे वे हैं जिनके ऊपरी तथा निचले दाँत होते हैं और इनसे भी श्रेष्ठ अनेक पाँव वाले जीव हैं । इनसे भी श्रेष्ठ चौपाये और चौपाये से भी बढ़कर मनुष्य हैं। ।। ३-२९-३० ।।
