स्वयोनिषु यथा ज्योतिरेकं नाना प्रतीयते । योनीनां गुणवैषम्यात्तथाऽऽत्मा प्रकृतौ स्थितः ॥ ३-२८-४३ ॥
As fire is exhibited in different forms of wood, so, under different conditions of the modes of material nature, the pure spirit soul manifests itself in different bodies. ॥ 3-28-43 ॥

जिस प्रकार अग्नि काष्ठ के विभिन्न प्रकारों में प्रकट होती है उसी प्रकार प्रकृति के गुणों की विभिन्न परिस्थितियों के अन्तर्गत शुद्ध आत्मा अपने आपको विभिन्न शरीरों में प्रकट करता है। ॥ ३-२८-४३ ॥
