तस्यावलोकमधिकं कृपयातिघोरतापत्रयोपशमनाय निसृष्टमक्ष्णोः । स्निग्द्धस्मितानुगुणितं विपुलप्रसादं ध्यायेच्चिरं विपुलभावनया गुहायाम् ॥ ३-२८-३१ ॥
The yogīs should contemplate with full devotion the compassionate glances frequently cast by the Lord’s eyes, for they soothe the most fearful threefold agonies of His devotees. His glances, accompanied by loving smiles, are full of abundant grace. ॥ 3-28-31 ॥

योगी को चाहिए कि भगवान् के नेत्रों की कृपापूर्ण चितवन का ध्यान पूर्ण समर्पण भाव से करे, क्योंकि उससे भक्तों के अत्यन्त भयावह तीन प्रकार के कष्टों का शमन होता है। प्रेमभरी मुसकान से युक्त उनकी चितवन विपुल प्रसाद से पूर्ण है। ॥ ३-२८-३१ ॥

हासं हरेरवन ताखिल लोकतीव्रशोका श्रुसागरविशोषणमत्युदारम् । सम्मोहनाय रचितं निजमाययास्य भ्रूमण्डलं मुनिकृते मकरध्वजस्य ॥ ३-२८-३२ ॥
A yogī should similarly meditate on the most benevolent smile of Lord Śrī Hari, a smile which, for all those who bow to Him, dries away the ocean of tears caused by intense grief. The yogī should also meditate on the Lord’s arched eyebrows, which are manifested by His internal potency in order to charm the sex-god for the good of the sages. ॥ 3-28-32 ॥

इसी प्रकार योगी को भगवान् श्री हरि की उदार मुसकान का ध्यान करना चाहिए जो घोर शोक से उत्पन्न उनके अश्रुओं के समुद्र को सुखाने वाली है, जो उनको नमस्कार करते हैं। उसे भगवान् की चाप सदृश भौंहों का भी ध्यान करना चाहिए जो मुनियों की भलाई के लिए कामदेव को मोहने के लिए भगवान् की अन्तरंगा शक्ति से प्रकट है। ॥ ३-२८-३२ ॥

ध्यानायनं प्रहसितं बहुलाधरोष्ठभासारुणायिततनुद्विजकुन्दपङ्क्ति । ध्यायेत्स्वदेहकुहरेऽवसितस्य विष्णोः भक्त्याऽऽर्द्रयार्पितमना न पृथग्दिदृक्षेत् ॥ ३-२८-३३ ॥
With devotion steeped in love and affection, the yogī should meditate within the core of his heart upon the laughter of Lord Viṣṇu. The laughter of Viṣṇu is so captivating that it can be easily meditated upon. When the Supreme Lord is laughing, one can see His small teeth, which resemble jasmine buds rendered rosy by the splendor of His lips. Once devoting his mind to this, the yogī should no longer desire to see anything else. ॥ 3-28-33 ॥

योगी को चाहिए कि प्रेम में ड़ूबा हुआ भक्तिपूर्वक अपने अन्तरतम में भगवान् विष्णु के अट्टहास का ध्यान करे। उनका यह अट्टहास इतना मोहक है कि इसका सरलता से ध्यान किया जा सकता है। भगवान् के हँसते समय उनके छोटे-छोटे दाँत चमेली की कलियों जैसे दिखते हैं और उनके होठों की कान्ति के कारण गुलाबी प्रतीत होते हैं। एक बार अपना मन उनमें स्थिर करके, योगी को कुछ और देखने की कामना नहीं करनी चाहिए। ॥ ३-२८-३३ ॥

एवं हरौ भगवति प्रतिलब्धभावो भक्त्या द्रवद्धृदय उत्पुलकः प्रमोदात् । औत्कण्ठ्यबाष्पकलया मुहुरर्द्यमानस्तच्चापि चित्तबडिशं शनकैर्वियुङ्क्ते ॥ ३-२८-३४ ॥
By following this course, the yogī gradually develops pure love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari. In the course of his progress in devotional service, the hairs on his body stand erect through excessive joy, and he is constantly bathed in a stream of tears occasioned by intense love. Gradually, even the mind, which he used as a means to attract the Lord, as one attracts a fish to a hook, withdraws from material activity. ॥ 3-28-34 ॥

इस मार्ग का अनुसरण करते हुए धीरे-धीरे योगी में भगवान् हरि के प्रति प्रेम उत्पन्न हो जाता है। इस प्रकार भक्ति करते हुए अत्यधिक आनन्द के कारण शरीर में रोमांच होने लगता है और गहन प्रेम के कारण शरीर अश्रुओं की धारा से नहा जाता है। यहाँ तक कि धीरे-धीरे वह मन भी भौतिक कर्म से विमुख हो जाता है, जिसे योगी भगवान् को आकृष्ट करने के साधन रूप में प्रयुक्त करता है, जिस प्रकार मछली को आकृष्ट करने के लिये कँटिया प्रयुक्त की जाती है। ॥ ३-२७-३४ ॥

मुक्ताश्रयं यर्हि निर्विषयं विरक्तं निर्वाणमृच्छति मनः सहसा यथार्चिः । आत्मानमत्र पुरुषोऽव्यवधानमेकमन्वीक्षते प्रतिनिवृत्तगुणप्रवाहः ॥ ३-२८-३५ ॥
When the mind is thus completely freed from all material contamination and detached from material objectives, it is just like the flame of a lamp. At that time the mind is actually dovetailed with that of the Supreme Lord and is experienced as one with Him because it is freed from the interactive flow of the material qualities. ॥ 3-28-35 ॥

इस प्रकार जब मन समस्त भौतिक कल्मष से रहित और विषयों से विरक्त हो जाता है, तो यह दीपक की लौ के समान हो जाता है। उस समय मन वस्तुत: परमेश्वर जैसा हो जाता है और उनसे जुड़ा हुआ अनुभव किया जाता है, क्योंकि यह भौतिक गुणों के पारस्परिक प्रवाह से मुक्त हो जाता है। ॥ ३-२८-३५ ॥
