एवं हरौ भगवति प्रतिलब्धभावो भक्त्या द्रवद्धृदय उत्पुलकः प्रमोदात् । औत्कण्ठ्यबाष्पकलया मुहुरर्द्यमानस्तच्चापि चित्तबडिशं शनकैर्वियुङ्क्ते ।। ३-२८-३४ ।।

By following this course, the yogī gradually develops pure love for the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari. In the course of his progress in devotional service, the hairs on his body stand erect through excessive joy, and he is constantly bathed in a stream of tears occasioned by intense love. Gradually, even the mind, which he used as a means to attract the Lord, as one attracts a fish to a hook, withdraws from material activity. ।। 3-28-34 ।।

english translation

इस मार्ग का अनुसरण करते हुए धीरे-धीरे योगी में भगवान् हरि के प्रति प्रेम उत्पन्न हो जाता है। इस प्रकार भक्ति करते हुए अत्यधिक आनन्द के कारण शरीर में रोमांच होने लगता है और गहन प्रेम के कारण शरीर अश्रुओं की धारा से नहा जाता है। यहाँ तक कि धीरे-धीरे वह मन भी भौतिक कर्म से विमुख हो जाता है, जिसे योगी भगवान् को आकृष्ट करने के साधन रूप में प्रयुक्त करता है, जिस प्रकार मछली को आकृष्ट करने के लिये कँटिया प्रयुक्त की जाती है। ।। ३-२७-३४ ।।
