रसमात्राद्विकुर्वाणादम्भसो दैवचोदितात् । गन्धमात्रमभूत्तस्मात्पृथ्वी घ्राणस्तु गन्धगः ।। ३-२६-४४ ।।

sanskrit

Due to the interaction of water with the taste perception, the subtle element odor evolves under superior arrangement. Thence the earth and the olfactory sense, by which we can variously experience the aroma of the earth, become manifest. ।। 3-26-44 ।।

english translation

स्वाद अनुभूति और जल की अन्त:क्रिया के फलस्वरूप दैवी विधान से गन्ध तन्मात्रा उत्पन्न होती है। उससे पृथ्वी तथा घ्राणेन्द्रिय उत्पन्न होते हैं जिससे हम पृथ्वी की सुगन्धि का बहुविध अनुभव कर सकते हैं। ।। ३-२६-४४ ।।
