क्लेदनं पिण्डनं तृप्तिः प्राणनाप्यायनोन्दनम् । तापापनोदो भूयस्त्वमम्भसो वृत्तयस्त्विमाः ॥ ३-२६-४३ ॥
The characteristics of water are exhibited by its moistening other substances, coagulating various mixtures, causing satisfaction, maintaining life, softening things, driving away heat, incessantly supplying itself to reservoirs of water, and refreshing by slaking thirst. ॥ 3-26-43 ॥
english translation
जल की विशेषताएँ उसके द्वारा अन्य पदार्थों को गीला करने, विभिन्न मिश्रणों के पिण्ड बनाने, तृप्ति लाने, जीवन पालन करने, वस्तुओं को मुलायम बनाने, गर्मी भगाने, जलागारों की निरन्तर पूर्ति करते रहने तथा प्यास बुझाकर तरोताजा बनाने में हैं। ॥ ३-२६-४३ ॥
