एतन्मे जन्म लोकेऽस्मिन् मुमुक्षूणां दुराशयात् । प्रसङ्ख्यानाय तत्त्वानां सम्मतायात्मदर्शने ॥ ३-२४-३६ ॥
My appearance in this world is especially to explain the philosophy of Sāṅkhya, which is highly esteemed for self-realization by those desiring freedom from the entanglement of unnecessary material desires. ॥ 3-24-36 ॥

इस संसार में मेरा प्राकट्य विशेष रूप से सांख्य दर्शन का प्रतिपादन करने के लिए हुआ है। यह दर्शन उन व्यक्तियों के द्वारा आत्म-साक्षात्कार हेतु परम समादृत है, जो अनावश्यक भौतिक कामनाओं के बन्धन से मुक्ति चाहते हैं। ॥ ३-२४-३६ ॥

एष आत्मपथोऽव्यक्तो नष्टः कालेन भूयसा । तं प्रवर्तयितुं देहमिमं विद्धि मया भृतम् ॥ ३-२४-३७ ॥
This path of self-realization, which is difficult to understand, has now been lost in the course of time. Please know that I have assumed this body of Kapila to introduce and explain this philosophy to human society again. ॥ 3-24-37 ॥

आत्म-साक्षात्कार का यह मार्ग, जिसको समझ पाना दुष्कर है, अब कालक्रम से लुप्त हो गया है। इस दर्शन को पुन: मानव समाज में प्रवर्तित करने और व्याख्या करने के लिए ही मैंने कपिल का यह शरीर धारण किया है—ऐसा जानो। ॥ ३-२४-३७ ॥

गच्छ कामं मया पृष्टो मयि सन्न्यस्तकर्मणा । जित्वा सुदुर्जयं मृत्युममृतत्वाय मां भज ॥ ३-२४-३८ ॥
Now, being sanctioned by Me, go as you desire, surrendering all your activities to Me. Conquering insurmountable death, worship Me for eternal life. ॥ 3-24-38 ॥

अब मेरे द्वारा आदिष्ट तुम मुझे अपने समस्त कार्यों को अर्पित करके जहाँ भी चाहो जाओ। दुर्जेय मृत्यु को जीतते हुए शाश्वत जीवन के लिए मेरी पूजा करो। ॥ ३-२४-३८ ॥

मामात्मानं स्वयञ्ज्योतिः सर्वभूतगुहाशयम् । आत्मन्येवात्मना वीक्ष्य विशोकोऽभयमृच्छसि ॥ ३-२४-३९ ॥
In your own heart, through your intellect, you will always see Me, the supreme self-effulgent soul dwelling within the hearts of all living entities. Thus you will achieve the state of eternal life, free from all lamentation and fear. ॥ 3-24-39 ॥

तुम अपनी बुद्धि के द्वारा अपने हृदय में निरन्तर मेरा दर्शन करोगे, जो समस्त जीवात्माओं के हृदयों के भीतर वास करने वाला परम स्वत: प्रकाशमान आत्मा है। इस प्रकार तुम समस्त शोक व भय से रहित शाश्वत जीवन प्राप्त करोगे। ॥ ३-२४-३९ ॥

मात्र आध्यात्मिकीं विद्यां शमनीं सर्वकर्मणाम् । वितरिष्ये यया चासौ भयं चातितरिष्यति ॥ ३-२४-४० ॥
I shall also describe this sublime knowledge, which is the door to spiritual life, to My mother, so that she also can attain perfection and self-realization, ending all reactions to fruitive activities. Thus she also will be freed from all material fear. ॥ 3-24-40 ॥

मैं इस परम ज्ञान को, जो आत्म जीवन का द्वार खोलने वाला है, अपनी माता को भी बतलाऊँगा, जिससे वह भी समस्त सकाम कर्मों के बन्धनों को तोडक़र सिद्धि तथा आत्म दर्शन प्राप्त कर सके। इस प्रकार वह भी समस्त भौतिक भय से मुक्त हो जाएगी। ॥ ३-२४-४० ॥
