सान्तःसरसि वेश्मस्थाः शतानि दश कन्यकाः । सर्वाः किशोरवयसो ददर्शोत्पलगन्धयः ॥ ३-२३-२६ ॥
In a house inside the lake she saw one thousand girls, all in the prime of youth and fragrant like lotuses. ॥ 3-23-26 ॥

Seeing her, the damsels suddenly rose and said with folded hands, “We are your maidservants. Tell us what we can do for you.” ॥ 3-23-27 ॥

उसे देखकर वे तरुणियाँ सहसा उठ खड़ी हुईं और हाथ जोडक़र कहा, “हम आपकी दासी हैं। कृपा करके बताएँ कि हम आपके लिए क्या करें?” ॥ ३-२३-२७ ॥

स्नानेन तां महार्हेण स्नापयित्वा मनस्विनीम् । दुकूले निर्मले नूत्ने ददुरस्यै च मानदाः ॥ ३-२३-२८ ॥
The girls, being very respectful to Devahūti, brought her forth, and after bathing her with valuable oils and ointments, they gave her fine, new, spotless cloth to cover her body. ॥ 3-23-28 ॥

देवहूति के प्रति अत्यन्त सम्मान प्रदर्शित करने वाली कन्याएँ उसे बाहर लाईं और बहुमूल्य तेलों तथा उबटनों को लगाकर नहलाया और उसे महीन, निर्मल, नये वस्त्र पहनने को दिये। ॥ ३-२३-२८ ॥

भूषणानि परार्ध्यानि वरीयांसि द्युमन्ति च । अन्नं सर्वगुणोपेतं पानं चैवामृतासवम् ॥ ३-२३-२९ ॥
They then decorated her with very excellent and valuable jewels, which shone brightly. Next they offered her food containing all good qualities, and a sweet inebriating drink called āsavam. ॥ 3-23-29 ॥

तब उन्होंने उसे उत्तम तथा बहुमूल्य आभूषणों से सजाया जो चमचमा रहे थे। फिर उन्होंने सर्वगुण सम्पन्न भोजन तथा मधुर मादक पेय पदार्थ आसवम् प्रदान किया। ॥ ३-२३-२९ ॥

अथादर्शे स्वमात्मानं स्रग्विणं विरजाम्बरम् । विरजं कृतस्वस्त्ययनं कन्याभिर्बहुमानितम् ॥ ३-२३-३० ॥
Then in a mirror she beheld her own reflection. Her body was completely freed from all dirt, and she was adorned with a garland. Dressed in unsullied robes and decorated with auspicious marks of tilaka, she was served very respectfully by the maids. ॥ 3-23-30 ॥

तब उसने दर्पण में अपना प्रतिबिम्ब देखा। उसका शरीर समस्त प्रकार के मल से रहित हो गया था और वह माला से सज्जित की गई थी। वह निर्मल वस्त्र पहने थी और शुभ तिलक से विभूषित थी। दासियाँ उसकी अत्यन्त आदरपूर्वक सेवा कर रही थीं। ॥ ३-२३-३० ॥
