त्रिलोक्या युगसाहस्रं बहिराब्रह्मणो दिनम् । तावत्येव निशा तात यन्निमीलति विश्वसृक् ॥ ३-११-२२ ॥
Outside of the three planetary systems [Svarga, Martya and Pātāla], the four yugas multiplied by one thousand comprise one day on the planet of Brahmā. A similar period comprises a night of Brahmā, in which the creator of the universe goes to sleep. ॥ 3-11-22 ॥

तीन लोकों (स्वर्ग, मर्त्य तथा पाताल) के बाहर चार युगों को एक हजार से गुणा करने से ब्रह्मा के लोक का एक दिन होता है। ऐसी ही अवधि ब्रह्मा की रात होती है, जिसमें ब्रह्माण्ड का स्रष्टा सो जाता है। ॥ ३-११-२२ ॥
