चतुर्थ ऐन्द्रियः सर्गो यस्तु ज्ञानक्रियात्मकः । वैकारिको देवसर्गः पञ्चमो यन्मयं मनः ।। ३-१०-१६ ।।

sanskrit

The fourth creation is the creation of knowledge and of working capacity. The fifth creation is that of the controlling deities by the interaction of the mode of goodness, of which the mind is the sum total. ।। 3-10-16 ।।

english translation

चौथी सृष्टि है ज्ञान तथा कार्य-क्षमता (क्रियाशक्ति) का सृजन। पाँचवीं सृष्टि सतोगुण की अन्योन्य क्रिया द्वारा बने अधिष्ठाता देवों की है, जिसका सार समाहार मन है। ।। ३-१०-१६ ।।

षष्ठस्तु तमसः सर्गो यस्त्वबुद्धिकृतः प्रभो । षडिमे प्राकृताः सर्गा वैकृतानपि मे श‍ृणु ।। ३-१०-१७ ।।

The sixth creation is the ignorant darkness of the living entity, by which the master acts as a fool. All the above are natural creations by the external energy of the Lord. Now hear from me about the creations by Brahmā, ।। 3-10-17 ।।

english translation

छठी सृष्टि जीव के अज्ञानतापूर्ण अंधकार की है, जिससे स्वामी मूर्ख की तरह कार्य करता है। उपर्युक्त समस्त सृष्टियाँ भगवान् की बहिरंगा शक्ति की प्राकृतिक सृष्टियाँ हैं। अब मुझसे उन ब्रह्माजी द्वारा की गई सृष्टियों के विषय में सुनो ।। ३-१०-१७ ।।

रजोभाजो भगवतो लीलेयं हरिमेधसः । सप्तमो मुख्यसर्गस्तु षड्विधस्तस्थुषां च यः ।। ३-१०-१८ ।।

Brahmā is an incarnation of the mode of passion and who, in the matter of creation, has a brain like that of the Personality of Godhead. The seventh creation is that of the immovable entities, which are of six kinds: ।। 3-10-18 ।।

english translation

ब्रह्माजी रजोगुण के अवतार हैं और सृष्टि के मामले में जिनका मस्तिष्क भगवान् जैसा ही है। सातवीं सृष्टि अचर प्राणियों की है, जो छ: प्रकार के हैं: ।। ३-१०-१८ ।।

वनस्पत्योषधिलता त्वक्सारा वीरुधो द्रुमाः । उत्स्रोतसस्तमःप्राया अन्तःस्पर्शा विशेषिणः ।। ३-१०-१९ ।।

The fruit trees without flowers, trees and plants which exist until the fruit is ripe, creepers, pipe plants, creepers which have no support, and trees with flowers and fruits.All the immovable trees and plants seek their subsistence upwards. They are almost unconscious but have feelings of pain within. They are manifested in variegatedness. ।। 3-10-19 ।।

english translation

फूलरहित फलवाले वृक्ष, फल पकने तक जीवित रहने वाले पेड़-पौधे, लताएं, नलीदार पौधे; बिना आधार वाली लताएँ तथा फलफूल वाले वृक्ष। सारे अचर पेड़-पौधे ऊपर की ओर बढ़ते हैं। वे अचेतप्राय होते हैं, किन्तु भीतर ही भीतर उनमें पीड़ा की अनुभूति होती है। वे नाना प्रकारों में प्रकट होते हैं। ।। ३-१०-१९ ।।

तिरश्चामष्टमः सर्गः सोऽष्टाविंशद्विधो मतः । अविदो भूरितमसः घ्राणज्ञा हृद्यवेदिनः ।। ३-१०-२० ।।

sanskrit

The eighth creation is that of the lower species of life, and they are of different varieties, numbering twenty-eight. They are all extensively foolish and ignorant. They know their desirables by smell, but are unable to remember anything within the heart. ।। 3-10-20 ।।

english translation

आठवीं सृष्टि निम्नतर जीवयोनियों की है और उनकी अट्ठाईस विभिन्न जातियाँ हैं। वे सभी अत्यधिक मूर्ख तथा अज्ञानी होती हैं। वे गन्ध से अपनी इच्छित वस्तुएँ जान पाती हैं, किन्तु हृदय में कुछ भी स्मरण रखने में अशक्य होती हैं। ।। ३-१०-२० ।।
