त्वं तु सर्वं परित्यज्य स्नेहं स्वजनबन्धुषु । मय्यावेश्य मनः संयक् समदृग्विचरस्व गाम् ।। ११-७-६ ।।

sanskrit

Now you should completely give up all attachment to your personal friends and relatives and fix your mind on Me. Thus being always conscious of Me, you should observe all things with equal vision and wander throughout the earth. ।। 11-7-6 ।।

english translation

अब तुम्हें अपने निजी मित्रों तथा सम्बन्धियों से पूर्ण मोह त्यागकर अपना मन मुझमें लगाना चाहिए। इस प्रकार मेरे प्रति सदैव सचेत रहते हुए तुम्हें सभी चीजों को समान दृष्टि से देखना चाहिए और पूरी पृथ्वी पर भ्रमण करना चाहिए। ।। ११-७-६ ।।

यदिदं मनसा वाचा चक्षुर्भ्यां श्रवणादिभिः । नश्वरं गृह्यमाणं च विद्धि मायामनोमयम् ।। ११-७-७ ।।

sanskrit

My dear Uddhava, the material universe that you perceive through your mind, speech, eyes, ears and other senses is an illusory creation that one imagines to be real due to the influence of māyā. In fact, you should know that all of the objects of the material senses are temporary. ।। 11-7-7 ।।

english translation

मेरे प्रिय उद्धव, जिस भौतिक ब्रह्मांड को आप अपने मन, वाणी, आंखों, कानों और अन्य इंद्रियों के माध्यम से देखते हैं वह एक भ्रामक रचना है जिसे कोई माया के प्रभाव के कारण वास्तविक होने की कल्पना करता है। वास्तव में, तुम्हें यह जानना चाहिए कि भौतिक इंद्रियों की सभी वस्तुएँ अस्थायी हैं। ।। ११-७-७ ।।

पुंसोऽयुक्तस्य नानार्थो भ्रमः स गुणदोषभाक् । कर्माकर्मविकर्मेति गुणदोषधियो भिदा ।। ११-७-८ ।।

sanskrit

One whose consciousness is bewildered by illusion perceives many differences in value and meaning among material objects. Thus one engages constantly on the platform of material good and evil and is bound by such conceptions. Absorbed in material duality, such a person contemplates the performance of compulsory duties, nonperformance of such duties and performance of forbidden activities. ।। 11-7-8 ।।

english translation

जिसकी चेतना भ्रम से भ्रमित हो जाती है वह भौतिक वस्तुओं के बीच मूल्य और अर्थ में कई अंतर देखता है। इस प्रकार व्यक्ति लगातार भौतिक अच्छाई और बुराई के स्तर पर उलझा रहता है और ऐसी धारणाओं से बंधा रहता है। भौतिक द्वंद्व में लीन, ऐसा व्यक्ति अनिवार्य कर्तव्यों के पालन, ऐसे कर्तव्यों के गैर-निष्पादन और निषिद्ध गतिविधियों के प्रदर्शन पर विचार करता है। ।। ११-७-८ ।।

तस्माद्युक्तेन्द्रियग्रामो युक्तचित्त इदं जगत् । आत्मनीक्षस्व विततमात्मानं मय्यधीश्वरे ।। ११-७-९ ।।

Therefore, bringing all your senses under control and thus subduing the mind, you should see the entire world as situated within the self, who is expanded everywhere, and you should also see this individual self within Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ।। 11-7-9 ।।

english translation

इसलिए, अपनी सभी इंद्रियों को वश में करके और इस प्रकार मन को वश में करके, आपको पूरे विश्व को अपने भीतर स्थित देखना चाहिए, जो हर जगह फैला हुआ है, और आपको मुझ भगवान के परम व्यक्तित्व के भीतर इस व्यक्तिगत आत्मा को भी देखना चाहिए। ।। ११-७-९ ।।

ज्ञानविज्ञानसंयुक्त आत्मभूतः शरीरिणाम् । आत्मानुभवतुष्टात्मा नान्तरायैर्विहन्यसे ।। ११-७-१० ।।

Being fully endowed with conclusive knowledge of the Vedas and having realized the ultimate purpose of such knowledge in practice, you will be able to perceive the pure self, and thus your mind will be satisfied. At that time you will become dear to all living beings, headed by the demigods, and you will never be hampered by any disturbance in life. ।। 11-7-10 ।।

english translation

वेदों के निर्णायक ज्ञान से पूरी तरह संपन्न होने और व्यवहार में इस तरह के ज्ञान के अंतिम उद्देश्य को महसूस करने से, आप शुद्ध आत्म का अनुभव कर पाएंगे, और इस तरह आपका मन संतुष्ट हो जाएगा। उस समय तुम देवताओं सहित सभी प्राणियों के प्रिय बन जाओगे और जीवन में कभी भी कोई विघ्न तुम्हारे लिए बाधा नहीं बनेगा। ।। ११-७-१० ।।
