गुणेषु चाविशच्चित्तमभीक्ष्णं गुणसेवया । गुणाश्च चित्तप्रभवा मद्रूप उभयं त्यजेत् ।। ११-१३-२६ ।।

sanskrit

A person who has thus achieved Me by understanding that he is not different from Me realizes that the material mind is lodged within the sense objects because of constant sense gratification, and that the material objects are existing prominently within the material mind. Having understood My transcendental nature, he gives up both the material mind and its objects. ।। 11-13-26 ।।

english translation

एक व्यक्ति जिसने इस प्रकार यह समझकर मुझे प्राप्त कर लिया है कि वह मुझसे भिन्न नहीं है, उसे पता चलता है कि भौतिक मन निरंतर इंद्रिय संतुष्टि के कारण इंद्रिय विषयों के भीतर ही स्थित है, और भौतिक वस्तुएं भौतिक मन के भीतर प्रमुख रूप से विद्यमान हैं। मेरी दिव्य प्रकृति को समझने के बाद, वह भौतिक मन और उसके विषयों दोनों को त्याग देता है। ।। ११-१३-२६ ।।

sanskrit

Waking, sleeping and deep sleep are the three functions of the intelligence and are caused by the modes of material nature. The living entity within the body is ascertained to possess characteristics different from these three states and thus remains as a witness to them. ।। 11-13-27 ।।

english translation

जागना, सोना और गहरी नींद बुद्धि के तीन कार्य हैं और ये भौतिक प्रकृति के गुणों के कारण होते हैं। यह सुनिश्चित किया जाता है कि शरीर के भीतर जीवित इकाई में इन तीन अवस्थाओं से भिन्न विशेषताएं हैं और इस प्रकार वह उनका साक्षी बना रहता है। ।। ११-१३-२७ ।।

The spirit soul is trapped in the bondage of material intelligence, which awards him constant engagement in the illusory modes of nature. But I am the fourth stage of consciousness, beyond wakefulness, dreaming and deep sleep. Becoming situated in Me, the soul should give up the bondage of material consciousness. At that time, the living entity will automatically renounce the material sense objects and the material mind. ।। 11-13-28 ।।

english translation

आत्मा भौतिक बुद्धि के बंधन में फंसी हुई है, जो उसे प्रकृति के मायावी गुणों में निरंतर संलग्न रहने का अवसर देती है। लेकिन मैं जागृति, स्वप्न और सुषुप्ति से परे चेतना की चौथी अवस्था हूं। मुझमें स्थित होकर आत्मा को भौतिक चेतना के बंधन को त्याग देना चाहिए। उस समय, जीव स्वतः ही भौतिक इन्द्रिय विषयों और भौतिक मन को त्याग देगा। ।। ११-१३-२८ ।।

The false ego of the living entity places him in bondage and awards him exactly the opposite of what he really desires. Therefore, an intelligent person should give up his constant anxiety to enjoy material life and remain situated in the Lord, who is beyond the functions of material consciousness. ।। 11-13-29 ।।

यावन्नानार्थधीः पुंसो न निवर्तेत युक्तिभिः । जागर्त्यपि स्वपन्नज्ञः स्वप्ने जागरणं यथा ।। ११-१३-३० ।।

According to My instructions, one should fix the mind on Me alone. If, however, one continues to see many different values and goals in life rather than seeing everything within Me, then although apparently awake, one is actually dreaming due to incomplete knowledge, just as one may dream that one has wakened from a dream. ।। 11-13-30 ।।

english translation
