नन्दो महामनास्तेभ्यो वासोऽलङ्कारगोधनम् । सूतमागधवन्दिभ्यो येऽन्ये विद्योपजीविनः ॥ १०-५-१५ ॥
The great-minded Mahārāja Nanda gave clothing, ornaments and cows in charity to the cowherd men. He distributed charity to the sūtas, the māgadhas, the vandīs, and men of all other professions, according to their educational qualifications, and satisfied everyone’s desires. ॥ 10-5-15 ॥

उदारचेता महाराज नन्द ने ग्वालों को वस्त्र, आभूषण तथा गाएँ दान में दीं। सूतों, मागधों, वन्दीजनों तथा अन्य वृत्ति वाले लोगों को उनकी शैक्षिक योग्यता के अनुसार दान दिया और हर एक की इच्छाओं को तुष्ट किया। ॥ १०-५-१५ ॥
