सत्त्वं रजस्तम इति भजते निर्गुणो गुणान् । क्रीडन्नतीतोऽत्र गुणैः सृजत्यवति हन्त्यजः ॥ १०-४६-४० ॥
Although beyond the three modes of material nature — goodness, passion and ignorance — the transcendental Lord accepts association with them as His play. Thus the unborn Supreme Lord utilizes the material modes to create, maintain and destroy.॥ 10-46-40 ॥
english translation
यद्यपि दिव्य भगवान् भौतिक प्रकृति के तीन गुणों—सतो, रजो तथा तमो गुणों—से परे हैं फिर भी क्रिड़ा के रूप में वे इनकी संगति स्वीकार करते हैं। इस तरह अजन्मा भगवान् इन भौतिक गुणों का उपयोग सृजन, पालन तथा संहार के लिए करते हैं। ॥ १०-४६-४० ॥
