ऊषुः सरस्वतीतीरे जलं प्राश्य धृतव्रताः । रजनीं तां महाभागा नन्दसुनन्दकादयः ॥ १०-३४-४ ॥
Nanda, Sunanda and the other greatly fortunate cowherds spent that night on the bank of the Sarasvatī, strictly observing their vows. They fasted, taking only water.॥ 10-32-4 ॥
english translation
नन्द, सुनन्द तथा अन्य अत्यन्त भाग्यशाली ग्वालों ने वह रात सरस्वती के तट पर संयम से अपने अपने व्रत रखते हुए बिताई। उन्होंने केवल जल ग्रहण किया और उपवास रखा। ॥ १०-३४-४ ॥
