    विमृज्य बाष्पम् परिसान्त्व्य च असकृत् । स लक्ष्मणम् राघव वंश वर्धनः । उवाचपित्र्ये वचने व्यवस्थितम् । निबोध माम् एष हि सौम्य सत् पथः ॥ २-२३-४१vimRjya bASpam parisAntvya ca asakRt । sa lakSmaNam rAghava vaMza vardhanaH । uvAcapitrye vacane vyavasthitam । nibodha mAm eSa hi saumya sat pathaH ॥ 2-23-41Wiping the tears again and again and having consoled Lakshmana for more than once, Rama, the enhancer of the glory of the Raghu dynasty said, 'Oh ! handsome one know, for sure, that I am firm in abiding by the words of our father. This is the true path (for me).' ॥ 2-23-41॥

Command me as to how this earth shall come under your control. Now itself I shall do that. I am your servant.' ॥ 2-23-40॥

Prabho ( Rama ), today you shall see the power of my glorious weapons in depriving the king (Dasaratha) of his authority and establishing your supremacy over the kingdom. ॥ 2-23-37॥

    बहुभिश्चैकमत्यस्यन्नेकेन च बहून्जनान् । विनियोक्ष्याम्य् अहम् बाणान् नृवाजिगजमर्मसु ॥ २-२३-३६bahubhizcaikamatyasyannekena ca bahUnjanAn । viniyokSyAmy aham bANAn nRvAjigajamarmasu ॥ 2-23-36Striking each of my foes with many arrows and many with one arrow, I shall aim them at the vitals of men, horses and elephants. ॥ 2-23-36॥

    बद्धगोधाङ्गुलित्राणे प्रगृहीतशरासने । कथम् पुरुष मानी स्यात् पुरुषाणाम् मयि स्थिते ॥ २-२३-३५baddhagodhAGgulitrANe pragRhItazarAsane । katham puruSa mAnI syAt puruSANAm mayi sthite ॥ 2-23-35When I stand before men (enemies) wearing godha and fingerprotector, holding the bow ready, who amongst men will boast of his manliness? ॥ 2-23-35॥

    खड्गधाराहता मेऽद्य दीप्यमाना इवाद्रयः । पतिष्यन्ति द्विपा भूमौ मेघाइव सविद्युतः ॥ २-२३-३४khaDgadhArAhatA me'dya dIpyamAnA ivAdrayaH । patiSyanti dvipA bhUmau meghAiva savidyutaH ॥ 2-23-34The elephants, struck by the blows of my sword, will fall on earth like mountains engulfed in flames and like clouds with lightning. ॥ 2-23-34॥

    खड्ग निष्पेष निष्पिष्टैः गहना दुश्चरा च मे । हस्ति अश्व नर हस्त ऊरु शिरोभिर् भविता मही ॥ २-२३-३३khaDga niSpeSa niSpiSTaiH gahanA duzcarA ca me । hasti azva nara hasta Uru zirobhir bhavitA mahI ॥ 2-23-33This entire earth will become impenetrable and impassable, scattered with the trunks, thighs and heads of elephants, horses and warriors hacked off with my sword. ॥ 2-23-33॥
