    प्राधान्यतो यान् ऋष आमनन्ति लीलावतारान् पुरुषस्य भूम्नः । आपीयतां कर्णकषायशोषाननुक्रमिष्ये त इमान् सुपेशान् ।। २-६-४६ ।।prAdhAnyato yAn RSa Amananti lIlAvatArAn puruSasya bhUmnaH | ApIyatAM karNakaSAyazoSAnanukramiSye ta imAn supezAn || 2-6-46 ||O Nārada, now I shall state, one after another, the transcendental incarnations of the Lord known as līlā-avatāras. Hearing of their activities counteracts all foul matters accumulated in the ear. These pastimes are pleasing to hear and are to be relished. Therefore they are in my heart. ।। 2-6-46 ।।

    यत्किञ्च लोके भगवन् महस्वदोजःसहस्वद्बलवत्क्षमावत् । श्रीह्रीविभूत्यात्मवदद्भुतार्णं तत्त्वं परं रूपवदस्वरूपम् ।। २-६-४५ ।।yatkiJca loke bhagavan mahasvadojaHsahasvadbalavatkSamAvat | zrIhrIvibhUtyAtmavadadbhutArNaM tattvaM paraM rUpavadasvarUpam || 2-6-45 ||in other words, anything and everything which is exceptionally possessed of power, opulence, mental and perceptual dexterity, strength, forgiveness, beauty, modesty, opulence, and breeding, whether in form or formless — may appear to be the specific truth and the form of the Lord, but actually they are not so. They are only a fragment of the transcendental potency of the Lord. ।। 2-6-45 ।।

    गन्धर्वविद्याधरचारणेशा ये यक्षरक्षोरगनागनाथाः । ये वा ऋषीणामृषभाः पितॄणां दैत्येन्द्रसिद्धेश्वरदानवेन्द्राः । अन्ये च ये प्रेतपिशाचभूतकूष्माण्डयादोमृगपक्ष्यधीशाः ।। २-६-४४ ।।gandharvavidyAdharacAraNezA ye yakSarakSoraganAganAthAH | ye vA RSINAmRSabhAH pitRRNAM daityendrasiddhezvaradAnavendrAH | anye ca ye pretapizAcabhUtakUSmANDayAdomRgapakSyadhIzAH || 2-6-44 ||the leaders of the Gandharva planets, the leaders of the Vidyādhara planets, the leaders of the Cāraṇaloka planets, the leaders of the Yakṣas, Rakṣas and Uragas, the great sages, the great demons, the great atheists and the great spacemen, as well as the dead bodies, evil spirits, satans, jinn, kūṣmāṇḍas, great aquatics, great beasts and great birds, etc. ।। 2-6-44 ।।

    अहं भवो यज्ञ इमे प्रजेशा दक्षादयो ये भवदादयश्च । स्वर्लोकपालाः खगलोकपाला नृलोकपालास्तललोकपालाः ।। २-६-४३ ।।ahaM bhavo yajJa ime prajezA dakSAdayo ye bhavadAdayazca | svarlokapAlAH khagalokapAlA nRlokapAlAstalalokapAlAH || 2-6-43 ||I myself [Brahmā], Lord Śiva, Lord Viṣṇu, great generators of living beings like Dakṣa and Prajāpati, yourselves [Nārada and the Kumāras], heavenly demigods like Indra and Candra, the leaders of the Bhūrloka planets, the leaders of the earthly planets, the leaders of the lower planets ।। 2-6-43 ।।

    आद्योऽवतारः पुरुषः परस्य कालः स्वभावः सदसन्मनश्च । द्रव्यं विकारो गुण इन्द्रियाणि विराट् स्वराट् स्थास्नु चरिष्णु भूम्नः ।। २-६-४२ ।।Adyo'vatAraH puruSaH parasya kAlaH svabhAvaH sadasanmanazca | dravyaM vikAro guNa indriyANi virAT svarAT sthAsnu cariSNu bhUmnaH || 2-6-42 ||Kāraṇārṇavaśāyī Viṣṇu is the first incarnation of the Supreme Lord, and He is the master of eternal time, space, cause and effects, mind, the elements, the material ego, the modes of nature, the senses, the universal form of the Lord, Garbhodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, and the sum total of all living beings, both moving and nonmoving. ।। 2-6-42 ।।

    ऋषे विदन्ति मुनयः प्रशान्तात्मेन्द्रियाशयाः । यदा तदेवासत्तर्कैस्तिरोधीयेत विप्लुतम् ।। २-६-४१ ।।RSe vidanti munayaH prazAntAtmendriyAzayAH | yadA tadevAsattarkaistirodhIyeta viplutam || 2-6-41 ||O Nārada, O great sage, the great thinkers can know Him when completely freed from all material hankerings and when sheltered under undisturbed conditions of the senses. Otherwise, by untenable arguments, all is distorted, and the Lord disappears from our sight. ।। 2-6-41 ।।

    विशुद्धं केवलं ज्ञानं प्रत्यक् सम्यगवस्थितम् । सत्यं पूर्णमनाद्यन्तं निर्गुणं नित्यमद्वयम् ।। २-६-४० ।। vizuddhaM kevalaM jJAnaM pratyak samyagavasthitam | satyaM pUrNamanAdyantaM nirguNaM nityamadvayam || 2-6-40 || The Personality of Godhead is pure, being free from all contaminations of material tinges. He is the Absolute Truth and the embodiment of full and perfect knowledge. He is all-pervading, without beginning or end, and without rival. ।। 2-6-40 ।।

    स एष आद्यः पुरुषः कल्पे कल्पे सृजत्यजः । आत्माऽऽत्मन्यात्मनाऽऽत्मानं संयच्छति च पाति च ।। २-६-३९ ।।sa eSa AdyaH puruSaH kalpe kalpe sRjatyajaH | AtmA''tmanyAtmanA''tmAnaM saMyacchati ca pAti ca || 2-6-39 ||That supreme original Personality of Godhead, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, expanding His plenary portion as Mahā-Viṣṇu, the first incarnation, creates this manifested cosmos, but He is unborn. The creation, however, takes place in Him, and the material substance and manifestations are all Himself. He maintains them for some time and absorbs them into Himself again. ।। 2-6-39 ।।

    यस्यावतारकर्माणि गायन्ति ह्यस्मदादयः । न यं विदन्ति तत्त्वेन तस्मै भगवते नमः ।। २-६-३८ ।।yasyAvatArakarmANi gAyanti hyasmadAdayaH | na yaM vidanti tattvena tasmai bhagavate namaH || 2-6-38 ||Let us offer our respectful obeisances unto that Supreme Personality of Godhead, whose incarnations and activities are chanted by us for glorification, though He can hardly be fully known as He is. ।। 2-6-38 ।।

    नाहं न यूयं यदृतां गतिं विदुर्न वामदेवः किमुतापरे सुराः । तन्मायया मोहितबुद्धयस्त्विदं विनिर्मितं चात्मसमं विचक्ष्महे ।। २-६-३७ ।।nAhaM na yUyaM yadRtAM gatiM vidurna vAmadevaH kimutApare surAH | tanmAyayA mohitabuddhayastvidaM vinirmitaM cAtmasamaM vicakSmahe || 2-6-37 ||Since neither Lord Śiva nor you nor I could ascertain the limits of spiritual happiness, how can other demigods know it? And because all of us are bewildered by the illusory, external energy of the Supreme Lord, we can see only this manifested cosmos according to our individual ability. ।। 2-6-37 ।।
