    अप्रणोद्योऽतिथिः सायं सूर्यौढो गृहमेधिना । काले प्राप्तस्त्वकाले वा नास्यानश्नन् गृहे वसेत् ॥ १०५ ॥apraNodyo'tithiH sAyaM sUryauDho gRhamedhinA । kAle prAptastvakAle vA nAsyAnaznan gRhe vaset ॥ 105 ॥A guest who is sent by the (setting) sun in the evening, must not be driven away by a householder; whether he have come at (supper-) time or at an inopportune moment, he must not stay in the house without entertainment.

    नैकग्रामीणमतिथिं विप्रं साङ्गतिकं तथा । उपस्थितं गृहे विद्याद् भार्या यत्राग्नयोऽपि वा ॥ १०३ ॥naikagrAmINamatithiM vipraM sAGgatikaM tathA । upasthitaM gRhe vidyAd bhAryA yatrAgnayo'pi vA ॥ 103 ॥One must not consider as a guest a Brahmana who dwells in the same village, nor one who seeks his livelihood by social intercourse, even though he has come to a house where (there is) a wife, and where sacred fires (are kept).

    दन्तैः शुक्लैः शिखरिभिः सिंहसंहननॊ युवा चक्राङ्कित करः शरीमान महामूर्धा महाबलः कुमारॊ देवगर्भाभः स तत्राशु वयवर्धत ॥ १-६८-४ ॥dantaiH zuklaiH zikharibhiH siMhasaMhananò yuvA cakrAGkita karaH zarImAna mahAmUrdhA mahAbalaH kumArò devagarbhAbhaH sa tatrAzu vayavardhata ॥ 1-68-4 ॥'And the boy gifted with pearly teeth and shining locks, capable of slaying lions even then, with all auspicious signs on his palm, and broad expansive forehead, grew up in beauty and strength. And like unto a celestial child in splendour, he began to grow up rapidly.' ॥ 1-68-4 ॥

    सम्प्राप्ताय त्वतिथये प्रदद्यादासनौदके । अन्नं चैव यथाशक्ति सत्कृत्य विधिपूर्वकम् ॥ ९९ ॥samprAptAya tvatithaye pradadyAdAsanaudake । annaM caiva yathAzakti satkRtya vidhipUrvakam ॥ 99 ॥But let him offer, in accordance with the rule, to a guest who has come (of his own accord) a seat and water, as well as food, garnished (with seasoning), according to his ability.
