    मङ्गलाचारयुक्तानां नित्यं च प्रयतात्मनाम् । जपतां जुह्वतां चैव विनिपातो न विद्यते ॥ १४६ ॥maGgalAcArayuktAnAM nityaM ca prayatAtmanAm । japatAM juhvatAM caiva vinipAto na vidyate ॥ 146 ॥No calamity happens to those who eagerly follow auspicious customs and the rule of good conduct, to those who are always careful of purity, and to those who mutter (sacred texts) and offer burnt-oblations.

As a token of my gratitude, I grant you this boon. May all the desires of your subjects in the kingdom be fulfilled." After saying this, Yayati, the great ascetic, transferred his decrepitude to Puru's body, all the while remembering Kavya.' ॥ 1-79-30 ॥
